ORIGINS AND EARLY CAREER
Jim Lisenby began his bartending journey in 1979 at the Sea Pines Beach Club on Hilton Head Island. His charisma and dedication quickly made him a local favorite. In 1993, he proposed the idea of a poolside bar to the Marriott Grande Ocean Resort, leading to the creation of Pool Bar Jim’s. This venture was among the first of its kind in the area, offering guests a unique beachfront cocktail experience.
CONTINUING THE TRADITION
Today, Pool Bar Jim’s remains a beloved destination on Hilton Head Island, located at 10 N Forest Beach Drive, behind the Sea Crest Resort.
The bar continues to serve the tropical cocktails that Jim popularized, ensuring that his spirit and dedication to hospitality live on.
