ORIGINS AND EARLY CAREER
Jim Lisenby began his bartending journey in 1979 at the Sea Pines Beach Club on Hilton Head Island. His charisma and dedication quickly made him a local favorite. In 1993, he proposed the idea of a poolside bar to the Marriott Grande Ocean Resort, leading to the creation of Pool Bar Jim’s. This venture was among the first of its kind in the area, offering guests a unique beachfront cocktail experience.

SIGNATURE STYLE AND OFFERINGS
Jim’s commitment to quality set his bar apart. He insisted on using fresh fruits in his cocktails, crafting drinks like the Daufuskie Freeze and the Roseanna Banana Kabana. His generous pours and personalized service—often remembering patrons’ names and favorite drinks—fostered a loyal customer base. His signature Hawaiian shirts and warm demeanor became synonymous with the Pool Bar Jim’s experience .
RELOCATION AND CONTINUED SUCCESS
After 22 years at the Marriott Grande Ocean Resort, Jim relocated Pool Bar Jim’s to the Sea Crest Resort in 2016. The new location continued to thrive, maintaining the same commitment to quality and hospitality that had become its hallmark.
